Oh how scary for you both. Instant, life-line decisions! Seems as if you made the right ones, Deb. If your honey can stay off cigarettes for six weeks, he’s got it licked. Healthy feels sooooo much better than sick!

Believe me, the craving will go away. The taste memory may not, but the craving will.

Thanks, everyone for your comments. He is really doing well off the cigarettes although he said he craves them every day but has no intention of ever smoking again.

Scary stuff, Deb, that makes for a compelling six-worder, doesn’t it! I’m glad he’s doing the heart rehab. and I sure hope he can go with the lifestyle changes!

So glad he is doing well!
The cigarettes are the worst enemy of our hearts and arteries. So if he keeps away from smoking, he should be fine. My mom quit smoking when she was in her early 70s, and lived to 93.

Deb, My husband had emergency by-pass surgery in the spring, and now feels better than he has in months, maybe years. He’s a better eater than before, and he completed his whole rehab program. I hope to have him around to carry photo equipment for a good long time.
